Lean Continuous Improvement Resource

Summary The North American Refinish and Commercial Coatings Continuous Improvement Lean Resource will support Plant Operations and end to end Supply Chain to improve business performance using continuous improvement tools and Lean methodologies across multiple units and functions.  The Resource will be a key part of the North America Refinish and Commercial Coatings Supply Chain team and report to the Continuous Improvement Manager. Job Responsibilities Key Responsibilities of this role include the following: Lead improvement projects and key activities from idea generation to realization and financial validation, using Lean methodology and other continuous improvement tools. Focus improvement work on defect reduction and waste elimination to achieve supply chain cost and workingcapital reduction, productivity improvements, process capability / efficiency / optimization, and cycle timeimprovement. Manage and lead improvement teams across multiple sites, business segments and/or functions comprising the end to end supply chain. Use appropriate Lean tools / methodologies to identify and address demand and supply planning improvements relative to plan, buy, make, deliver and cash to cash cycle time. Ensure responsibilities and controls are in place to sustain improvements, including support and ownership where improvements must be maintained. Identify opportunities to eliminate waste and drive continuous improvement:   Play a key role in defining "loss and waste" analysis opportunities and prioritizing, aligned with supply chain strategic plans & direction. Provide continuous improvement methodology expertise and integrated functional knowledge as supply chain CI resource. Identify business improvement opportunities by analyzing data, gathering voice of customer information and defining the problem and scope as an executable improvement level. Apply Lean tools including value stream mapping, DILO, and brainstorming to identify waste and organize Kaizen improvement teams. Draft charters for improvement projects, gain alignment / approvals from process owners and sponsors on the charters and planned improvement work. Build Continuous Improvement & Lean culture to drive change:     Develop capability, buy-in and support for a continuous improvement / Lean Enterprise culture Promote discipline, using data /analysis for decisions, applying Lean and Change Management methodologies toimplement change Lead change through Lean events, Kaizen, and application of visual management tools & systems Support and engage all team members in Lean activities / projects, providing capability building and coaching tointegrate the continuous improvement capability and mindset. Leverage skills and develop others:     Assist in training / mentoring others in continuous improvement, including Lean and application of specific CI tools and capabilities. Mentor and coach improvement teams, Kaizen teams, Green Belts and build shop floor level continuous improvement understanding and capability. Assist with activities and projects, as necessary, to facilitate successful completion. Other duties as assigned.   Minimum Qualifications   Bachelor's degree required; Engineering or Supply Chain preferred 5+ years' work experience (at least 2 years with Process Improvement project leadership) Must have or be able to acquire Lean Certification Prior experience effectively leading change, building, and implementing multi-site improvement plans Experience with facilitating Lean training events or Kaizen events Lean project experience / background Ability to travel domestically (20%+)  Preferred Qualifications     Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Supervisory, and/or Quality work experience(s) strongly preferred Personal Qualities:     Demonstrated team leadership experience, serving as a change agent to drive continuous improvement Effective in using data to make decisions Demonstrated organizational and time management skills to execute to a schedule Ability to work effectively as part of a team Effective communication skills (written and oral) from shop floor to leadership Functional Skills:     Project management / leadership experience Capability to perform basic statistical analysis (knowledge & use of Minitab a plus) Demonstrated capability with Excel and PowerPoint SAP knowledge a plus Teamwork skills (leading meetings, teams, interpersonal skills, etc...) The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
