Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership to keep Injection Molding Area current with state of the art processing techniques and provide mold and machine validation.
Evaluate and make necessary changes to injection molding processes to keep Injection Molding processes running at peak efficiency.
Document changes.
Develop and document robust certified processes for existing molds using data and specific process validation tools.
Store these programs in the appropriate systems, protected from alteration.
Continuously evaluate programs and determine the root cause of problematic processes.
Drive to find root causes using scientific methodologies to allow for repeatable processes Perform process capability studies on Injection Molding Machinery, materials and molds.
Develop and submit reports on machine, mold and process capabilities.
Work with Maintenance team to certify equipment using machine validation tools.
Provide training on equipment and processes to personnel by being an internal process consultant.
Drive and own Injection Molding Process databases to assure only certified programs are used to run Injection Molding Machinery.
Perform daily audits of injection molding processes to assure certified programs are being properly followed.
Perform Daily review of any documented molding issues.
(Molding issues defined as any process that falls outside the allowable limits).
Provide leadership, training and necessary feedback to assure certified programs are used, standard work is followed and certified programs are not corrupted.
Work with manufacturing engineers and supervisors to implement lean activities including; SMED, 5S, Flow and Cost reductions in the facility.
Work with maintenance to certify, diagnose, troubleshoot, and coordinate needed equipment repairs.
Develop comprehensive maintenance processes and procedures for certifying IM Equipment.
Perform audits of new processes and tooling that are being released to production to assure certified programs are correct and robust.
Qualifications High School Diploma.
Minimum five years' experience in Injection Molding.
Ability to apply scientific molding techniques to achieve the desired product specifications and quality standards.
Outstanding processing ability and fluent in the use of Process Evaluation tools.
Understanding how to use data to make informed decisions and adjustments to improve efficiency and product quality.
Outstanding initiative and good leadership abilities.
Good communication skills and ability to train others.
Must have a strong drive towards continuous improvement.
Demonstrated ability consistently interact well with line personnel, as well as supervisors and management.
Able to learn the Business System and Quality System.
Excellent mechanical ability Willingness to receive any additional training required to perform job at optimum level.
Able to work as a team member and individual.
Demonstrated High Level of integrity and professionalism Safety and Quality conscious.
