As an Authorizations Coordinator you will coordinate all insurance authorizations of durable medical equipment for the company.
Job
Responsibilities:
Contacts all insurance companies to verify/determine patient benefit eligibility, including DME benefit amount and deductible.
Determine if any authorization(s) are needed in connection with DME eligibility and obtain preauthorization when required by insurance.
Initiate pre-authorization letters when required by patient's insurance company.
Reads computer files or gathers records such as medical records to compile needed data.
Documents patient record as per company policies and procedures, both patient file and electronically.
Assists with related special projects as required.
Job
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum of 1 year experience with benefit verifications and authorization; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
